![]() I'm not expert in PCs - always preferring my good old reliable (mostly) Mac equipment at every turn. ![]() Like the loss of Time Machine, the quality of the keyboard and screen, about whether my specialist mouse will be compatible.įrankly I could do with some guidance as to what machine and screens might be good to look into (replacing a 2018 28" iMac). Has anyone here made a similar move? I worry about font compatibility (some old documents use ancient legacy fonts! This department had artworks dating back decades), plus I worry about all sorts of stupid stuff. I can also forsee countless problems in the transition. Yes, I can see that it does make sense to have a PC instead of the Mac. OK, I can't currently print from the Mac (have to export PDF to a USB stick, then take that to a PC that is allowed on the network and print from there using Acrobat!), nor do I have access to network folders, wired broadband, or have external backups made etc. The organisation I work for as a Graphic Designer is forcing me to move from my beloved Mac to a PC (something to do with PSN compliancy - or somesuch spurious reason).
